Google Play Bookstore  An collection of free books to read online is available on Google Play Bookstore. On the Google Play site, type Free Books in the Search Bar which will bring up lists of free books and audio books to choose from.  Free books are downloaded into and stored in your Google Library. Includes some bestsellers, mystery thrillers, favourite classics and more. Books are available in several formats, You can also check out ratings and reviews from other users.
ManyBooks This site contains over 50,000 online books available for a free download. While you're more likely to find older, classic titles available for free than contemporary ones, ManyBooks still has a selection of more recent novels, a number of which appear in the Editor's choice selection, at the end of a category page. You are also able to access other eBooks that are available for a discounted price.
