Servants: The True Story of Life Below Stairs

This three-part documentary series  looks at what life was like for British servants of large homes in the pre and Victorian period.  It also provides a fascinating insight into how houses were designed to accommodate servants, many of the objects with which they came into contact, uniforms worn, and books and guides informing them how best to perform their duties.
